Room 8 - In 1946...Davis...studied dramatic art at the First Actor’s Group, in Hollywood... Disgusted after a few months of daily discrimination...he decided to settle in Paris for good. There he started a career as performer and singer, becoming famous with the song ‘Lover Man’ to which he owed his nickname. A friendly soft-spoken person, he manages to live happily on little in his small apartment on the Avenue Reille, occasionally hosting American friends like [Langston] Hughes on their visits to Paris...
